🐠 In Loving Memory of Sunkist 🍊

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished pet, Sunkist, who swam his final lap on October 25, 2025. He was just shy of celebrating his first birthday, having brought us joy and beautiful color for nearly a full year since he came home in the fall of 2024.

Sunkist was a magnificent goldfish, with scales that shimmered like a polished penny, earning him his bright, citrus-inspired name. He may have been small, but he had a personality that filled his whole tank.

  • He was a performer: Sunkist was known for his daily "water dances," gracefully gliding and darting when a familiar face approached the glass.

  • He was a festive soul: A truly unique trait was Sunkist's fascination with gingerbread men. He loved watching them during the holiday season or inspecting his little gingerbread tank ornaments with curiosity.

  • He was an eager eater: Always the first to the surface, he approached every meal with gusto and enthusiasm, often leaving a trail of happy bubbles.

Though his life was short, it was full of love and good food (just the fish variety!). Sunkist will be profoundly missed by his loving owner who made sure his home was always clean, warm, and decorated with the finest aquatic foliage.

We will hold his memory close every time we see a flash of orange or catch a quiet moment of reflection, and especially when we see a gingerbread man. Swim free, little Sunkist.
