In Loving Memory of Sophie

In Loving Memory of Sophie

Beloved Guardian and Bedtime Companion

Sophie wasn’t just a cat—she was a presence. A black and grey queen with what we lovingly called “loose stomach muscles,” she carried herself with pride and a touch of comedic grace. Her round belly swayed as she walked, and we’d laugh for hours watching her stare at us with her mouth slightly open, as if pondering the mysteries of our human behavior.

Though my dad claimed he didn’t like cats, Sophie had other plans. She chose him as her favorite, curling up beside him night after night as he pet her for hours. Their quiet bond became one of the most tender parts of our home.

Sophie slept on my bed, a constant comfort and silent protector. Though she never ventured outside, she took her role as household guardian seriously—patrolling hallways, inspecting corners, and keeping watch from her favorite perch. Her eyes missed nothing, and her presence made our house feel whole.

She was more than a pet. She was family. A soft, warm soul who made us laugh, gave us comfort, and reminded us that love often comes in the most unexpected forms.

We miss you, Sophie. Thank you for guarding our hearts.
